About Us
The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) has been the premier association for kitchen and bath professionals working in North America since its founding in 1963. The Association has over 40,000 members in 11 industry segments throughout the U.S. and Canada plus over 1,500 student members. North America is divided into eight regions with over 70 member chapters. More than 200 professional development courses are sponsored by the NKBA each year and there are over 50 NKBA-accredited/supported colleges and universities.
We are driven to succeed by our members.
Extensive consumer outreach to help educate the public about the details of modern kitchen and bath design is an NKBA focus. It also runs a $100,000 national design competition with submission of actual projects from NKBA members and it owns the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS). KBIS is the world’s largest trade show dedicated to the kitchen and bath industry and has operated continuously since 1964.
NKBA certification has been the gold standard in the kitchen and bath industry since 1968. Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer (AKBD), Certified Kitchen Designer (CKD), Certified Bathroom Designer (CBD), Certified Kitchen Educator (CKE), Certified Bathroom Educator (CBE), Certified Kitchen & Bath Installer (CKBI), Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD), and Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Educator (CMKBE) credentials require demonstration of industry knowledge and experience plus passing proctored examinations.
The mission of the NKBA is to enhance member success and excellence, to promote professionalism and ethical business practices, and to provide leadership and direction for the kitchen and bath industry worldwide.
The The NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter is part of Region 8 (NKBA Southwest Central). It is based primarily in Colorado, but also includes parts of southern Wyoming. The NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter has a history of over 30 years and is recognized as one of the most active chapters within the region and throughout the country. Our outstanding programming efforts have been awarded “Best of the Best” within Region 8 over the past two years.
The chpater is governed by a locally-elected Board of Directors like all state chapters. These officers volunteer their time and energy to serve the membership in many ways while bringing diverse backgrounds and knowledge to the organization. The makeup of the Board changes annually. Varying term limits allow new leaders with new ideas to help steer the direction of the chapter for each calendar year while still maintaining continuity with the past.
We are driven to succeed by our members. The NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter is proud of the diversity of our membership with an active group of participating designers, contractors, vendors, and other allied professionals working everywhere from rural small towns to the major cities of our region. It is our members who have made us the great chapter that we are today.
