Letter from the RMC President- March 2010

It’s hard to believe March is here already. It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating at our Year End Gala. But here we are, into the 3rd month of 2010 and things are certainly looking up. I know many of my colleagues have expressed their optimism about the upcoming year. For many the economic woes of 2009 are far behind them as the prospects for new business abound. To say that’s a welcome change is an understatement!

We here at the Rocky Mountain Chapter are excited about the upcoming year as well. Our programs are in full swing with 2 well attended and well presented programs already under our belt. January and February saw us visiting new venues for our programs at Mountain High Appliance in Louisville and Granite Imports in Denver respectively. We are always happy to see new businesses step us as host sites and look forward to future opportunities with all of our hosts. And in case you missed the memo, our weekend mountain event is back for 2010! We were sorry to have to take 2009 off from our planned weekend event, but the response from our members was overwhelming. “Bring it back!,” they cried. Well, we listened and this year we will be heading to Vail & Avon for the weekend of July 23rd – 25th. So mark your calendars now and plan on being there. Look for details coming out sometime this month.

Finally, if you’ve been thinking that 2010 is the year you might want to finally take a shot at getting your NKBA certification, we are here to help make that happen. Our study classes are back and underway on Saturday’s at Foothills Lighting. It’s not too late to sign up. Contact Julie Pero, CKD, our VP of Professional Development for more information and the schedule. Best of luck for success in 2010!

Sincerely, Troy Williams, AKBD, President
